Size & Measurement Guide
How to measure yourself for a made-to-measure piece, and what our standard sizes correspond to.
Taking your measurements
Measure over your underwear, not over clothes. Keep the tape level and snug, but never pulled tight — a tape that digs in gives a garment that does not fit. If you can, ask someone to help; measuring your own back and shoulders is harder than it sounds. All measurements are in inches.
- Bust or chest — around the fullest part, with the tape level across the back.
- Waist — around the narrowest part of your natural waist, above the hip bone.
- Hip — around the fullest part, roughly eight inches below the waist.
- Shoulder — across the back, from the bone at one shoulder point to the other.
- Sleeve length — from the shoulder point down to where you want the sleeve to end.
- Garment length — from the shoulder, down the front, to where the piece should finish.
- Height — without shoes.
We confirm before we cut
Whatever you enter, we will go through it with you before anything is cut. Nobody gets a garment made on a number we have not talked through together — so send your best measurements rather than agonising over them.
Standard sizes
This chart is a draft
Talisa Atelier’s standard size chart — the bust, waist and hip range each of XS to XL corresponds to — has not been finalised. It must be added here before launch, because buyers ordering a standard size have nothing else to go on.
